Manufacturing of rotary-blowing moulds for a global soft-drink company for multiple franchises across India

Project duration: 8 months Project scope: – Technical and aesthetic design of a carbonated drink bottle, based on inputs from the customer – Testing of pilot mould and bottle samples as per international standards – Manufacturing of moulds for different rotary blowing machines (> 50 moulds) Project synopsis: The objective of this project was to design a common bottle for different flavours of carbonated drinks and manufacture moulds for six franchise-bottling operations of a global beverage brand in India. This was what we call a “full scale project”, which starts with designing the bottle, followed by pilot mould trials and ends with the manufacturing of commercial moulds for each franchise . Bottle designing ·         Based on the customer inputs like product application, pack-size and preform weights, we initiated the process of designing the bottle ·         With our in-house team of design eng...

What is Additive Manufacturing

Far from being a process or just a trend, additive manufacturing is more of a technological revolution that comes under the fourth industrial revolution. As the name suggests, the additive manufacturing process works by adding materials. Layers upon layers of materials are deposited successively on top of each other until the desired object is produced. What is additive manufacturing? Additive manufacturing (AM) is the industrial manufacturing process that uses computer-aided-design (CAD) software or 3D object scanners to direct hardware to deposit material, layer upon layer, to create desired geometric shapes. How does additive manufacturing work? The very first step in additive manufacturing is to create a 3D model of the object. This model can be designed using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This CAD file is now converted to a standard additive manufacturing file format, which is usually an STL file. The STL file is then digitally sliced into different layers. The third...

Quick change moulds are specialized components used in rotary stretch blow molding machines to produce PET bottles at incredibly high speeds. These moulds are mounted individually in each blowing station, which rotate rapidly during operation. Precision engineering is critical—each mould must maintain dimensional accuracy and integrity under high pressure and heat 🏭 Why Choose Awant Polymoulds? At Awant Polymoulds, we bring decades of experience in designing and m...

Case Study: How a Custom Plastic Mould Cut Production Time by 30%

In the manufacturing world, time is money. As India’s “Make in India” drive gains momentum, companies are improving their plastic moulding processes to cut costs and turnaround times. This case study shows how a Pune-based FMCG supplier cut down production time by 30 percent. The company switched to a  custom plastic mould.  At the same time, the quality was maintained. The Challenge: Slow Cycle Time Delayed Deliveries The medium-sized company ABC Packaging is a homecare plastic dispenser supplier. Its injection moulding unit was using old, generic moulds. When the orders increased after the COVID pandemic, it couldn’t keep up with the demand because of slow cycle times. It took 42 seconds to make a dispenser, far above industry benchmarks. Customers started complaining when shipments were delayed. The company decided to optimize its operations. ABC Packaging Collaborated with XYZ Polymoulds To solve the problem, ABC decided to work with the best  plastic mould man...

Enhancing Bottle Production with Precision: Blow Moulds for Linear Machines by Awanti Polymoulds

In the dynamic world of plastic packaging, bottle manufacturing continues to evolve with demand for faster, more efficient, and high-quality production processes. One such revolutionizing innovation is the use of linear blowing machines, and standing at the forefront of this technology is Awanti Polymoulds – a trusted name in precision mould manufacturing.   What Are Linear Blowing Machines? Linear blowing machines are high-speed systems designed to produce PET bottles using multiple cavities arranged in a straight-line configuration on a common plate. Unlike rotary systems, these machines offer flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance – making them ideal for mid- to high-volume production units.   Why Blow Moulds Matter At the heart of every bottle-blowing system lies the blow mould – a crucial component responsible for the final shape, size, and quality of the bottle. For linear machines, the accuracy, surface finish, and cooling efficiency of the moul...

The Role of Plastic Bottle Moulds in Product Customization and Branding

To stay noticed in today’s fast-moving consumer marketplace, any plastic bottle is simply not a bottle anymore. It is your brand. Bottles bear embossed logos, bright colours, and have sleek designer curves. Plastic bottle moulds are now the handiwork of many popular product designers in this line of work. With rising consumer expectations, Indian brands are investing more money into this area of  plastic bottle mould design  to get unique custom shapes that brands are now looking out for. Customization – its Importance Today If you walk down a supermarket aisle, you tend to notice the different bottle shapes that stand out from the shelves. These would most likely be  custom PET bottles . Beyond just fulfilling a function, each of these bottles would tell a story—about luxury, freshness, sustainability, or tradition. It’s not just packaging but it’s all about brand identity. A quality  bottle moulds manufacturer in India  enjoys great importance and is a ...
