The Galore of CNC Machines - Awanti Polymoulds

In the age of programming, CNC machines are a boon to manufacturing units. CNC stands for computer numeric control. A CNC machine is operated and controlled entirely through software.

History and Evolution of CNC machines

It all began in the 1940s, right after the World War II. The earliest version of CNC machines developed during that time basically numerically controlled or NC machines. Initially the fabrication and the manufacturing process was carried on by numerically controlled machine before the invention of CNC machines. These NC machines were created by John T Parsons. In 1960s and early 1970s the idea of computer-controlled machines began to circulate. By 1989 CNC machines became the industry standard.

The initial machines had punch cards with G codes. As these machines were hardwired it was difficult or rather impossible to change the pre-set parameters. The G-codes in the modern CNC machines are designed and controlled by computers. The whole set up allows you to do real-time adjustments.

Full Automation over Manual Process

In the modern times the entire CNC protocol is automated, the manufacturing process is pre-programmed leading to automation. The modern machines amalgamate several different functions into one cell and everything is controlled by the same program. The CNC process gives way to regularity and uniformity in the production of parts through automated techniques.

Advantages of the CNC Machines

The CNC machines and the process carried on using them yields high quality output. The best part about these machines is that they are accurate and a process using these machines can be repeated thousands of times giving the same accurate output each time. Hence a product can be replicated a thousand times. There would be no manual errors as it would be fully automated. Using CNC machines requires very less labour and saves a lot of manufacturing time.

CNC at Awanti

Awanti’s setup consists of world-class CNC machines which ensure high precision, accuracy and repeatability for every mould manufactured. This ensures a consistent output of high quality bottles and a longer life of mould.

Moulds for Better Shelf Life of PET Bottles

Before we talk about Shelf Life of  PET Bottles  let us first understand what does the term shelf life means. Shelf life is the duration of time period measured from the date of manufacture, that a good is likely to endure within its accepted product specification while stocked under defined conditions. Shelf life is characteristically stated in units of months, i.e. 12 months, 24 months, up to a limit of 60 months. The expression “shelf life” and “expiry date” is frequently interchangeably made use of in the industry, as both the terms reflect the same notion: there is a duration of time period where a good is stable and harmless for use. Shelf life/expiry dates suggests the time where a good will work both securely and efficiently. This is the reason why “shelf life testing” is also known as “stability testing”. The total amount of time a product can remain stable under specific environmental circumstances, equates to its shelf life. Now let us understand what shelf ...

Introduction to Injection Moulding

Awanti Polymoulds , a  Blow Mould Manufacturer in India , started its journey in the industry of  precision machining  and  Mould Manufacturing  more than three decades ago. In the initial years, along with  PET Blow Moulds , Awanti manufactured  Injection Moulds  for various products in the beverage industry and automotive industry. Injection moulding , as the title suggests is implemented using an injection technique. It is a manufacturing process to produce different parts or moulded products by injecting molten material into the moulds and then cooling and solidifying them. Injecting moulding involves six steps like clamping, injection, dwelling, cooling, mould opening, and removal of the product. The clamping unit is used for the opening and closing of the die. It helps in the product’s ejection at the end of the process. The clamping unit is of 2 types: toggle type and straight-hydraulic type. The injection unit is used to melt the pl...
